MUSEUMS AND CENTRES OF INTERPRETARION
MUSEUMS AND CENTRES OF INTERPRETARION MUSEUMS AND CENTRES OF INTERPRETARION MUSEUMS AND CENTRES OF INTERPRETARION

Introducing the tradition, culture, architectonic heritage and history of Terres de l'Ebre, this is the goal of the numerous museums and interpretation centres that can be visited in the four regions of the Ebro. The Museu del Montsià (Montsià Museum), with regional field of influence, is one of the reference centres with samples of archaeology, history or natural environment. But these lands also have spaces of exhibition and divulging on the Massif of Els Ports and the Delta de l'Ebre, the prehistoric and Iberian heritage, the religious art, the Civil War or distinguished people related to the territory, like painter Pablo Picasso. A visit to these centres will enrich your stay in Terres de l'Ebre.
Centres of interpretation
centres of interpretation The centres of interpretation have the goal of spreading the cultural, historical and artistic peculiarities existing in several towns of Terres de l'Ebre. In Uldecona, for example, you can visit the cave paintings of the Hermitage Pietat and in Tivissa the legacy that the Iberians left. People interested in Contemporary history, have several centres of interpretation linked to the Battle of the Ebro and the Spanish Civil War, in Gandesa, El Pinell de Brai or Corbera d'Ebre. If what you want is to penetrate in the traditions of the Delta, the Centre of Interpretation of Barraques (Shacks), in Sant Jaume d'Enveja, will tell you the main features of the typical popular architecture of these marshes placed in the mouth of the river. These are only some examples of what you can discover if you visit the centres of interpretation in several villages in Terres de l'Ebre.
Museums
Museums The museums show a good sample of the cultural and patrimonial legacy that Terres de l'Ebre agglutinates. There are varied centres that allow to relish all the details of the history of the art of these southern Catalan regions. We can find spaces dedicated to art, archaeology or nature reserves, like the Montsià Museum, located in Amposta. Other museums show the relationship of distinguished characters with the territory, like the Home Museum of Enric of Ossó in Vinebre, or the Museum Picasso in Horta de Sant Joan, where reproductions of the works that the artist painted during his stay in this village can be seen. Moreover, we can find museums dedicated to craft techniques like the Popular Pottery in l'Ametlla de Mar, or those that exhibit religious artistic works, like the sculptures of the Gardens of the Prince or the Museum of the Cathedral in Tortosa.
