RECREATIONAL AREAS
RECREATIONAL AREAS

Recreational areas are located in specific, adequately conditioned natural places, which have been created for leisure use, where you can be in close touch with nature. You will often find picnic and barbecue areas for cooking purposes, but remember that during periods of drought it is prohibited to light fires to avoid the risk of fire spreading.

There are recreational areas both in the mountains and along the Ebre River in the Terres de l'Ebre region. In Els Ports massif, for example, it is worth visiting the one at the hermitage, the one at Sant Roc fountain on the outskirts of Paüls (Baix Ebre), and also the one at Racó del Toscà, near d’Alfara de Carles (Baix Ebre).

RECREATIONAL AREASIn the Terra Alta region, you will find recreational areas at the Mare de Déu de la Fontcalda Sanctuary in Gandesa and the Santa Madrona Hermitage in Corbera d’Ebre. Along the Ebre River, there are also recreational areas at Garcia fluvial beach, Moreres in Xerta, the Deltebre fluvial promenade and at Pont del Rei (King's bridge) near the mouth of the Ebre.

Interpretation areas are natural areas which have been equipped for educational studies of the environment. In Serreta de Freginals for example, there is an attractive interpretative route which helps us to understand the special features of the Montsià mountain range, and we can also see historic remains like the Barraca de Quicolis (Quicolis shelter).
