Near the Ebre River, between Els Ports massif and the Cardó-Boix mountain range, there is a fork in the immense Ebre Valley and here there is a predominance of irrigation farming. A little further to the south, where the river flows into the sea on the Ebre Delta alluvial plain, there are many rice fields. Dryland farming takes place on the Montsià plains, which lie in the valley between Els Ports Massif and La Serra del Montsià. This area looks a bit like a sea of green due to the colour of the olive, carob, almond, and citrus trees in the southern most part.An expanse of olive groves with the Montsià mountain range as a backdrop |
