Diversity and peace give a unique identity to the coast of Terres de l’Ebre: the northern coast between L'Ametlla de Mar and L'Ampolla has lots of isolated coves which are hidden by reddish-coloured rocky cliffs and surrounded by pine groves. In the south there are long, peaceful beaches of fine sand with clear, shallow water. Between desert-like mirages, low sand dunes and the wet, greenness of spring rice fields, the sandy beaches of Amposta, Sant Jaume and Deltebre coexist with the more typical areas of the Ebre Delta National Park. Finally, the smooth pebbly beaches belonging to the fishing village of Les Cases d’Alcanar lead you down the coast to Pais Valencià.
