El Pi Gros (great pine), la Sénia

El Pi Gros (great pine) is a black pine tree which has the biggest diameter on the Iberian peninsula of 1.78 metres, with a circumference 4.60 metres and a height of 33 metres. It is believed to be more than 700 years old, and has probably surived so long as it marks the boundary between two forest properties. It was declared a Monumental tree by the Catalan agricultural department DARP, on 3 December 1992.
