SCUBA DIVING

A veritable paradise is hidden below the waters of the Ebre coast. Between L'Ampolla and L’Ametlla de Mar we can find one of the most important colonies of Neptune Grass (Posidonia) on the Mediterranean coast. It is so spectacular that it attracts hundreds of scuba-divers every year. Close by, between reefs and craggy rock formations, lies the remains of an Italian merchant ship, which sunk in 1917. It is completely open on all sides due to decomposition in the mid twentieth century, and has become an impressive artificial reef offering excellent conditions for diving and scuba-diving.
Those wishing to dive and discover the secrets at the bottom of the sea, can choose from a wide variety of companies and organizations offering underwater activities, ranging from courses for beginners to excursions along some of the most striking reefs on the coast of Catalonia.
