Rice with fish or duck, black rice, rice soup and rice with beans and turnips are just some of the typical dishes to be found in Terres de l'Ebre. In fact, this cereal is one of the main ingredients of the rich and varied cuisine to be offered in Terres de l'Ebre –game, fish and rice– and vegetables from interior vegetable gardens. To promote this unique cuisine, there are around twenty restaurants in Terres de l'Ebre which participate in The Rice Route, from February till the end of May, and this is an unbeatable way to try an infinite number of dishes using different varieties of rice harvested from the Delta itself.
This route has been promoted by the Friends of the Ebre Association in order to promote Ebre rice and cuisine in general. Those who take part in this route are given a small bag of rice with the Ebre Delta Protected Designation of Origin, and what is more, at any of the restaurants you can get a small card with six blank spaces. People who get each space stamped, receive an Expert in Terres de l'Ebre Rice certificate during the closing ceremony meal which they are invited to.| Restaurant l'Alguer.
