L'encanyissada, Ebre Delta National Park

This is the biggest laggon in the Ebre Delt, and is situated in the southern part. It is divided into two sections: "the big basin" and "the little basin" popularly known as "el clot"). In the northern part of the big basin there is a reed bed and some marshes, a place where bulls pasture. The cane plantation here is home to the biggest colonies of Little Egret, Cattle Egret, Black-crowned Night Heron, Little Bittern, Squacco Heron and the Purple Heron. Apart from being an important viewpoint for fauna it has also been declared a National Hunting Reserve.
