La Casa de Fusta (Wooden House) is one of the most emblematic buildings in the Delta de l'Ebre. It was built at the end of the 1920s by a group of hunters who settled in the delta, attracted by the quantity and variety of birds that there were in this natural space. At present, it has been restored to host the Information Centre of the Natural Park of the Delta de l'Ebre, where visitors get information about itineraries, the most outstanding spaces and the activities that can be carried out in the area. Besides, it has many publicacions and interesting stuff for the visitor. The ornithological museum is here, a representative collection of birds that live in the Delta de l'Ebre. There are 182 samples of 134 different species, which try to show the peculiariaties of all the ecosystems in the delta. Just opposite the Casa de Fusta there is a bird observatory, where you can see the lagoon l'Encanyissada.
