Terres de l'Ebre
REGIONS, Baix Ebre
The Baix Ebre region is a veritable mosaic of contrasts. It can be divided up into two very different areas: firstly, there is the lower stretch of the Ebre River and the north of the Ebre Delta, and secondly there is Els Ports Massif (with Mont Caro peak reaching a height of 1,447m.), along with the southern rock faces of the Cardó mountain range.
The north coast of this region also has its special features, very different from the fine sandy beaches of the delta, with small, idyllic coves and rocky cliffs.
This region covers an area of almost 1,000km2, with a population of 74,962 inhabitants, in 14 towns, with Tortosa being the capital.
