The Ebre Delta National Park was awarded the European Charter for Sustainable Tourism certificate. This document is promoted by the EUROPARC Federation (an organization which represents national parks and nature reserves in 32 European countries). The certificate is awarded to protected areas which have developed a strategy for making tourist development compatible with conserving the environment.
Since June 2010 the Ebre Delta National Park has twenty companies belonging to the European Charter for Sustainable Tourism. This membership certifies an environmental performance improvement and cost savings. That means a quality improvement
