SUSTAINBABLE TOURISM PROJECTS IN TERRES DE L'EBRE, Riet Vell Nature Reserve
Riet Vell is the name of the nature reserve in the Ebre Delta, managed by the SEO\BirdLife conservation organization. It is a place where activities aimed at preserving the environment are developed, such as the production of ecological rice, the recuperation of humid areas or the control of protected species of flora and fauna. SEO/Birdlife also promotes specific scientific research programmes for international voluntary work and environmental education for schools and groups of tourists. Furthermore, it encourages bird watching and nature tourism, thanks to having restored aquatic habitats and installing observation towers for bird watching in the reserve itself, which are open to the public.
